Google Adsense

Starting January 1, 2023,

we will supplement the existing Google Ads Data Processing Terms, Google Ads Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms, and Google Measurement Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms for these 5 new US State laws. No additional action is required to accept these terms if you’ve already agreed to the online data protection terms.

Subject to these terms,

we will act as your service provider or processor with respect to data processed while Restricted Data Processing (RDP) is enabled. You can find additional information here. If you’ve activated RDP via a product control then functionality will expand to the other states as relevant laws come into effect. You can refer to this article for more information on RDP and to determine whether RDP meets your compliance needs and to this article for more information on our commitment to data protection law compliance.

Controls for eligible ad partners

will expand to regulated states as relevant laws come into effect. Similarly, if you have created a California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) message in the Privacy & messaging tab, you will see updated proposed language you may use with the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) in effect. You may also display messages to Virginia users under the Virginia Data Protection Act (VDPA). You will be able to find more information about this change in the Privacy & messaging tab soon.

Google Adsense Policy Guidelines

Google AdSense is one of the most popular ways for website owners to monetize their content.

However, in order to participate in the program, you must abide by Google's AdSense policies. These policies are in place to ensure that the ads displayed on your website are relevant and appropriate for your audience, and to protect the integrity of the AdSense program.

Policy 1

One of the most important AdSense policies to be aware of is the policy on content. Google requires that all websites participating in the AdSense program must have high-quality, original content. This means that your website should not contain any plagiarized content or any content that is stolen from other sources. Additionally, your website should not contain any content that is illegal, offensive, or promotes hate or violence.

Policy 2

Another important policy to be aware of is the policy on placement of ads. Google requires that all ads be placed in a way that is clear and conspicuous to users. This means that ads should not be placed in a way that makes them difficult to distinguish from the rest of the content on your website. Additionally, ads should not be placed in a way that interferes with the user's ability to navigate your website.

Policy 3

Google also has strict policies in place to prevent fraud and invalid clicks. This means that you are not allowed to click on your own ads or encourage others to do so. Additionally, you are not allowed to use any software or tools to artificially inflate your clicks or impressions. Violating these policies can result in your account being suspended or terminated.

Important Note

In order to ensure compliance with AdSense policies, it's important to regularly review the AdSense program policies and terms of service. Additionally, it's important to monitor your website and ensure that it is in compliance with these policies. If you are unsure about a particular policy or have questions, you can reach out to the AdSense support team for guidance.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Google AdSense is a great way to monetize your website, but it's important to be aware of and comply with their policies. By following the guidelines, you can ensure that your website is eligible for the program, and that the ads displayed on your website are relevant and appropriate for your audience. This will ultimately help you to earn more revenue from your website while protecting the integrity of the AdSense program.
